Jouranl 9

The fall term will finish on Dec. 24. Actually, I will finish my all exam on Dec.17 and go back to China on Dec.23. It is a pity that I cannot spend my winter vocation here, especially the Christmas, even though the awful coldness. However, it can still be warm to enjoy the time with my family and Chinese friends. In this winter break, I have many things to do. Firstly, I need to American embassy to get my F1 visa. Then I am going to go home. I miss my family and want to spend more time with them. At the same time, I need to go shopping. I should prepare for the next year in America. Of course, America has sufficient goods but they do not suit me. I also plan to eat as more as possible. We make a conclusion that Chinese food is the most delicious in the world. I will eat what I like. Finally, getting a driver license is optional choice. It depends on my time. I will come back on Jan11. Therefore, it will be a short winter break.
Since there are two holds in my record, I cannot choose classes now. I must attend the orientation at the spring term and then I can choose classes. Yesterday I got my Minnesota English Battery test grade. I have passed the test, so I do not need to take ESL course any more. I can focus on my major and liberal classes. Given I want to transfer into another college, I will not choose professional course. Maybe psychology, physics and some writing classes are my best choice. I am also excited about ACCT 3001. No matter whether I can transfer successfully, it is my necessary class. I think five classes could be better so I need to think about it carefully. I have not decided which one should be chose. I consider part-time job, so I cannot take more classes than five. It is a challenge for me. Nevertheless, I believe I can because if I can graduate early I can release my family's pressure. I have confidence. I come. I conquer.
I am looking forward the next semester.

How to escape cooking

Pretend getting a infectious disease
1.Search the symptom of the infectious diseaseThink about a common infectious disease.Make sure everyone around you know how painful is it.
2.get to the kitchen before anyone else
Make sure you arrive first and active.Pick up what you want to have as your lunch or dinner. Then do some simple work, like washing vegetables.
3.tell them you are ill"Carelessly" tell your partner you are not sure about a disease.Let him or her introduce the symptom to you. After he or she describe how painful and annoying is it,tell him or her you are getting this disease "carelessly".

WAL-MART

We have the Wal-Mart in our hometown. However, I'm not quite like this place even though it may offer the lowest price of goods, the quality of those goods are not high as well. I have never been Wal-Mart anymore since I bought some meatballs with pig hair in them. That is disgusting!
The market I prefer to shop usually is called the Silver Plaza which has an underground super market. The Silver could be the popular market and it has amount of branch around the province. The price gap of goods between these two super market is not large, in order to obtain a higher quality, more the citizens choose the local market. Another reason of the Silver can stand a competition is that it offer gift cards. There is a naturally rule people following nowadays that they used to send gift cards as present instead of real present. The trend leads more and more people tend to consume in the Silver because they owns amount of gift cards.
The target here is similar with the Silver. I am wondering why there are no vegetables in normal Target, so that I have to shop in the Super Target. It may lose numbers of client for this institution.

Chicago ---1

Chicago, as the second largest city in America, carrys too many dreams. Just as what happens in Chicago, the famous movie. In my first Thanksgiving holiday, I went to the dream city to take in the charm of Chicago.
It was 6:00 am but we had already waken up and set off to the station. The long travel was really boring. The best way to kill the time maybe is sleeping and since we got up so early all of us were tired. The quiet coach marched to Chicago. Until about 3 pm we arrived in the destination. It didn't mean the trip was finished. We walked 40-50 minutes to go to the hotel with luggage. As soon as we put down the luggage, we visited the famous city. It proved that the nickname "Windy City" is true. We walked on Michigan Ave. Due to the Thanksgiving, nearly all shops closed. But the scenery was beautiful. And I saw the Water Tower. It was very familiar for me because I saw it at Wilson Library. The Chicago Water Tower locates at the Michigam Aveneue along the shopping district. The Water Tower serves as one of the Chicago Office of Tourism's Official Visitor's Centers. It is the second-oldest water tower in the United States. The tower, built in 1869, is 154 feet tall. The tower gained prominence after the great Chicago fire of 1871. It was the only building in the burned zone to survive, and is the only one of the surviving structures still standing. In the years since the fire, the tower has become a symbol of old Chicago and of the city's recovery from the fire. We looked for a place to eat dinner. Finally, we eat at Mcdonald. The Mcdonald was so big. We were the poor people who can't eat Thanksgiving dinner at Thanksgiving eve. On our way to hotel, there were many people making tents to prepare for the shopping on the nest day

timberwolves

On Nov. 4th, I watched the first live NBA match in Target Center. Even though I had watched many NBA games on TV in China, I still felt excited. Two month ago, we came to Target Center to see Obama, now we came again.
It was Minnesota Timberwolves v. Celtics. Lots of fans swept into the center because their previous "King of wolves" , Kevin Garnett ,would appear in the match. We didn't know much about Timberwolves without Garnett. We chose this match because the Celtics was very good. It owned many famous stars, like Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce. It win the champion many times. But Garnett did not performance well. Actually, I wander how many scores he got. 2 or 4? Sometimes, we felt he was there to show he was cool. He stood at the center of the match at the break. He did nothing, just stood there. It seemed that he was saying"Hi, take photos". Of course, people could not lost this chance and they took a lot. Since our seats were a little far, it was not very clearly.
The atmosphere was very good. Everyone was enthusiastic. On the break time, there was many activities. So it seemed the time past quickly. Usually, I felt a match was long when I saw it on TV. I'm so happy I can experience special things in America.

Duluth 2

After lunch, we departed for Gooseberry Falls State Park. Gooseberry Falls is the gateway to the North Shore. It is known for its spectacular waterfalls, river gorge, Lake Superior shoreline, Civilian Conservation Corps log and stone structures, and north woods wildlife. Hike through a forest of evergreens, aspen, and birch and visit the Joseph N. Alexander Visitor Center where you can find park information, interrpretive displays, a park video, Nature Store, and more. We visited the visitor center and then we went hiking. At first, it was fun. We enjoyed the scenery. The sun was happy too so it gave us enough sunshine. Soon we felt hot. We chose ways that few people went. As a result, we went the wrong way and lost in the forest. We were worried just because we only had half hour but the way was so long. At first, we walked fast then ran. Fortunately, we got the destination on time. We were so tired. We left the park, went to Duluth. Duluth is very beautiful, especially the lighthouses. It looked like a picture. The big lake was so big that I felt it seemed sea. So many birds were flying there and people fed them friendly. We hang around to find a place to eat. We were exhausted but nothing could stop us playing. The small party was fun. We played games and there were some punishments-the loser had to drink wine. My roommate was unlucky that she drank a lot. Actually these boys did this on purpose.

It's hard to get up the next day. We packed up, then went to have breakfast. The weather was bad, it was ruining. During the breakfast, the leader told us that we need not to go outside to see sled dogs. They would come here. In this case, we waited and waited. Finally, they came with a sled dog that it had already 14 years. It meant the dog was old. They taught us something about the sled dogs and the history about the Cloquet Forestry Center. We departed at 12pm. We drove to a restaurant for lunch. It was a buffet lunch which offered traditional thanksgiving food, like turkey, tomato, salad. We ate full and happily. With a long trip, we came back home.
This is a memorable trip. I appreciate the scenery and nice people. I will remember it forever.
