Duluth 2

After lunch, we departed for Gooseberry Falls State Park. Gooseberry Falls is the gateway to the North Shore. It is known for its spectacular waterfalls, river gorge, Lake Superior shoreline, Civilian Conservation Corps log and stone structures, and north woods wildlife. Hike through a forest of evergreens, aspen, and birch and visit the Joseph N. Alexander Visitor Center where you can find park information, interrpretive displays, a park video, Nature Store, and more. We visited the visitor center and then we went hiking. At first, it was fun. We enjoyed the scenery. The sun was happy too so it gave us enough sunshine. Soon we felt hot. We chose ways that few people went. As a result, we went the wrong way and lost in the forest. We were worried just because we only had half hour but the way was so long. At first, we walked fast then ran. Fortunately, we got the destination on time. We were so tired. We left the park, went to Duluth. Duluth is very beautiful, especially the lighthouses. It looked like a picture. The big lake was so big that I felt it seemed sea. So many birds were flying there and people fed them friendly. We hang around to find a place to eat. We were exhausted but nothing could stop us playing. The small party was fun. We played games and there were some punishments-the loser had to drink wine. My roommate was unlucky that she drank a lot. Actually these boys did this on purpose.

It's hard to get up the next day. We packed up, then went to have breakfast. The weather was bad, it was ruining. During the breakfast, the leader told us that we need not to go outside to see sled dogs. They would come here. In this case, we waited and waited. Finally, they came with a sled dog that it had already 14 years. It meant the dog was old. They taught us something about the sled dogs and the history about the Cloquet Forestry Center. We departed at 12pm. We drove to a restaurant for lunch. It was a buffet lunch which offered traditional thanksgiving food, like turkey, tomato, salad. We ate full and happily. With a long trip, we came back home.
This is a memorable trip. I appreciate the scenery and nice people. I will remember it forever.
